Venezuela's Chavez using judiciary to silence opponents, cardinal charges

Cardinal Jorge Urosa Savino of Caracas has charged that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is using the government to squelch his political opponents. He urged Venezuelan citizens to denounce "any violation of human rights," saying that the Chavez regime is working to eliminate opposition. "Chavez's goal is to eliminate me," the cardinal said.
