Cardinal Pell to head apostolic visitation in Ireland?
CWN - March 26, 2010
Cardinal George Pell of Sydney, Australia, may be assigned by the Vatican to head an apostolic visitation of the Church in Ireland, according to media reports. A spokesman for the Sydney archdiocese has downplayed the rumors.
Pope Benedict announced earlier this month that he plans an apostolic visitation of Irish dioceses, as part of his response to the sex-abuse scandal there. The Vatican has made no further announcement about the plans for that inquiry.
