Iran: jailed Protestant minister threatened with execution
CWN - March 11, 2010
A Protestant missionary in Iran who was arrested on February 2 on charges of proselytizing has been tortured and is being threatened with execution, his wife reports. Rev. Wilson Issavi was arrested after holding a service for his small congregation, which is affiliated with the Assemblies of God. Christians in Iran fear that his arrest signals a new crackdown on religious activities by the country's remaining Christians.
