No Catholic can support same-sex marriage, Italian cardinal warns
CWN - February 17, 2010
An Italian cardinal has warned politicians that they set themselves apart from the Church if they support legal recognition of same-sex marriage. "It's impossible for the Catholic faith and support for putting homosexual unions on equal footing with marriage to coexist in one's conscience -- the two contradict each other," said Cardinal Carlo Caffarra of Bologna. His warning, originally prepared for his own archdiocese, was reprinted by the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano.
