Philippine prelate: Condoms, like cigarettes, should have warnings

Less than a week after the nation’s health department distributed free condoms for Valentine’s Day, a prelate in the Philippines has called upon the government to add warning labels to condoms.

“It is the right of consumers, whether Catholics or not, to be informed of condom failure,” said Archbishop Ramon Argüelles of Lipa. “Just like 'Smoking is Dangerous For Your Health,' there must be a government warning: 'Condoms May Fail to Protect From AIDS.”
