Marian scholar raises new questions on Medjugorje phenomena

A noted German Marian theologian has raised new questions about the authenticity of the reported apparitions at Medjugorje. In an interview with the German newspaper Die Tagespost (translated into English on the Catholic Light blog), Father Manfred Hauke said that if the Church determines that the reported apparitions are not authentic, pastoral prudence would require discouraging public interest.
