Over 20,000 attend Chinese bishop's funeral

A massive congregation estimated at over 20,000 people gathered for the funeral of Bishop Raymond Wang Chnglin of Zhaoxian on February 8. The bishop, who died at the age of 88, had spent 21 years in prison for his loyalty to the Holy See. He was eventually recognized by the Beijing government, although he never wavered in his allegiance to Rome.
