Chinese 'underground' bishop, later accepted by regime, dead at 88

Bishop Raymond Wang Chonglin of Zhaoxian, who spent 21 years in prison for his involvement with the "underground" Church but was later accepted by the government, has died of a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 88. Bishop Wang was consecrated to serve the "underground" Church in 1983, and was eventually recognized by the Beijing government in 1988.
