One of the most important steps the Holy Father can take to defend marriage and reduce divorce among Catholics is to close down most of the diocesan tribunals in the United States. They have a 40-year history of declaring marriages null because "the Petitioner always wanted more attention from his father," "my much too close relationship with my mother," "the Respondent would not share with him 'things from her past of which she was ashamed. . . ." Examples taken from actual cases. Stupidity!
