Elephant stampedes in Orissa, where anti-Christian violence exploded
CWN - December 21, 2009
The web site of the Archdiocese of Colombo, in Sri Lanka, has called attention to a series of rampages by wild elephants in the Indian state of Orissa: the same state where Hindu mobs exploded in violence against the Christian minority in July 2008. The elephant attacks, the report notes, began exactly one year after the riots that eventually killed 500 Christians and drove thousands from their homes. Remarkably enough, the rare elephant stampedes have raised havoc in several Orissa towns but have not damaged the homes of Christians.
