Chavez uses war threats to conceal Venezuela's domestic problems, prelate charges
November 11, 2009
By threatening war with Colombia and with the United States, Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez is trying to distract attention from the domestic crisis in his own country, charged Archbishop Balthazar Porras of Merida. Archbishop Porras disclosed that the bishops of Venezuela will meet later this month with their colleagues from neighboring Colombia and Ecuador to discuss the political troubles of their region.
