Begging once again for a government handout? Why not change course and oppose taxation without representation? Until Catholics have designated seats in Congress, we should demand lower taxation levels so that our support for the displaced, the indigent, and the neglected can be more abundantly provided by the religious body who has for nearly 2,000 years done so as a matter of faith and morals. I consider it the highest scandal that government has usurped the rightful role of religious charity.
