South Carolina priest pursues $1M poker challenge

A 28-year-old priest of the Diocese of Charleston is one of four finalists in the PokerStars.net Million-Dollar Challenge. Father Andrew Trapp, who received permission from his pastor and his bishop to compete, won $100,000 in the semifinal round and donated the funds to his parish.

    "They (the pastor and bishop) wanted me to be seen as a regular guy." Hmmm..but a priest is not a "regular guy." He is consecrated and set apart for service to God. While it is nice to use the money for good things, this denigrates the priesthood.
