2nd Cleveland diocesan official jailed in kickback scheme

A second former official of the Diocese of Cleveland has been sentenced to prison in a kickback scheme. Diocesan accountant Anton Zgoznik was sentenced to a year and a day in prison for paying $784,000 in kickbacks to his boss-- former diocesan chief financial officer Joseph Smith-- in exchange for $17.5 million worth of computer and accounting business. Mr. Zgoznik will also perform 4,000 hours of community service and restore $784,000 to the diocese.
