CWN Editor's Note: “Always, under or behind rigidity, there are problems, grave problems,” the Pontiff preached during his October 16 weekday Mass. “Jesus is not there. The spirit of the world is there ... Be careful around those who are rigid. Be careful around Christians—be they laity, priests, bishops—who present themselves as so ‘perfect,’ rigid. Be careful.”

On another note, I see that Pope Francis continued his discussion of the fifth Commandment this week. I was really looking forward to his comments on the SIXTH Commandment!!!

Hint: "The spirit of the world is there" and " who present themselves as perfect". Hmmmm, who does that sound like in the American hierarchy?

Good. We now have another existential definition of "rigid": "so 'perfect'". I believe this is the 4th example provided by the Pope since I asked a couple of weeks ago for some examples.
