Armenian Apostolic Archbishop ordains female deacon, without canonical sanction

CWN Editor's Note: A leading prelate of the Armenian Apostolic Church has ordained a woman as a deacon, although the Armenian Church has not instituted the female diaconate. Archbishop Sebouh Sarkissan of Teheran said that the ordination of Deacon Ani-Kristi Manvelian “is in conformity with the traditional of the Church and nothing else.”
