Major vandalism at Pittsburgh's largest Catholic cemetery

The worst vandalism in the history of Pittsburgh’s Catholic Cemeteries Association was discovered the morning of July 1 at Hazelwood’s Calvary Cemetery. The vandals ripped up American flags and overturned 115 gravestones.
“For the Catholic Church, there are two sacred places: the church and the cemetery,” said Lawrence Domencic, director of cemetery operations. “They’ve desecrated a sacred place.”
