Newly discovered fresco of St. Paul shows influence of Greek philosophers on early Church

Commenting on a 3rd-century fresco of St. Paul, newly discovered in a Roman catacomb, the director of the Vatican Museums notes that the portrait seems deliberately fashioned to evoke comparisons between St. Paul and Plato-- demonstrating that the early Church recognized and developed the connections between Christian theology and classical Greek philosophy.
