1,000-year-old Marian statue to be brought to Czech papal Mass

Spokesmen for the Diocese of Brno have revealed additional details about Pope Benedict’s September 26-28 visit to the Czech Republic. The Pope will celebrate Mass for an estimated 120,000 in Brno in the presence of a statue of the Blessed Mother reportedly brought to the region by Saints Cyrl and Methodius. The Pontiff is scheduled to visit Brno, Prague, and Stara Boleslav, the site of the martyrdom of St. Wenceslaus.
