French bishop charges local government anti-Catholic demonstrations by gay activists

Bishop Marc Aillet of Bayonne, France, has charged that the city government of Biarritz has committed "yet another official offense aimed at the Catholic Church" by supporting Gay Pride demonstrations last weekend. The bishop said that grotesque displays during the event were "blasphemous" and deliberately offensive to the "Catholic faith and religious life that so strongly characterizes the soul, culture, and traditions of the Basque region."
