US bishops meet, focus on liturgy

June 17, 2009

The bishops of the United States are gathering at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio from June 17 to 19 for their annual spring meeting. Agenda items during the meeting’s public session include liturgical translations and a proposed Mass of Thanksgiving for the Gift of Human Life. “We are teachers of the faith, so it makes sense that we give a lot of attention and time to the liturgy,” said San Antonio Archbishop José Gomez. “The biggest challenge we have is that Catholics do not know the Catholic faith. They know it, but not as much as they need.”
