Trump administration has not requested meeting with Pontiff

The White House has not yet requested a papal audience with President Donald Trump, Vatican sources have disclosed.
President Trump will be in Rome in May for meetings of the G7 industrial leaders. There has been speculation that the American leader would take advantage of his trip to arrange a meeting with the Pontiff—as his two immediate predecessors, Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush, had done.
To date, however, there has been no request for a meeting, informed Vatican sources said.

Better not to meet with the Pope, but to de-fund Planned Parenthood, to appoint pro-life justices, not to push "genderless" bathrooms and high school locker rooms, not to push for public funding of abortion and every form of contraception, to stop persecuting the Little Sisters of the Poor, and to guarantee religious freedom for all than to make a big show of meeting with the Pope, but then go home and scuttle every issue and item he supports, while persecuting his adherents!

I don't expect Trump to be requesting a meeting with Pope Francis. Neither one of those men would want to kiss the others' ring.

Trump is the most Catholic-friendly President since Reagan. It would be good to keep it that way.
