Women bring harmony to family, Pope says

February 09, 2017

The distinctive role of woman is to bring harmony into the world, Pope Francis said in his homily at a morning Mass at the Domus Sanctae Marthae on February 9.

“Without the woman there is no harmony,” the Pope said. He said that in a marriage the proper relationship is not one of equality, nor is one partner superior to the other. “It’s just that the man does not bring harmony,” he said. “It’s her.”

"Without the woman there is no harmony." If this statement reflects reality, then it is another point in support of Ordinatio Sacerdotalis. Christ said: "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." If it is Christ's place to bring the sword, and not harmony, and if it is the woman's place to bring harmony, then it logically follows that the woman is not suited to serve _in persona Christi_, but the man by design is.
