November 21, 2016
The European Commission has pledged help to rebuild the historic basilica of St. Benedict in Norcia, Italy, that was virtually destroyed last month by earthquakes.
“It’s right that the European Commission takes responsibility for the beautiful cathedral of Norica,” said Jean-Claude Juncker, the president of the European Commission. Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi has also promised the government’s help with reconstruction costs.
