New cardinals, joined by Pope, greet Pope Emeritus

Following the consistory for the creation of new cardinals on November 19, Pope Francis and the new cardinals traveled to Mater Ecclesiae Monastery and greeted Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.
The Pope “affectionately embraced” the Pope Emeritus, and the meeting with the new cardinals was characterized by “simplicity and joy,” according to an Italian-language Vatican Radio report.
