Caritas, Lutheran World Services to strengthen collaboration

October 28, 2016

During Pope Francis’s apostolic journey to Sweden, leaders of Caritas Internationalis and Lutheran World Services will sign a declaration of intent to strengthen collaboration on such issues as refugees, peace, and climate change.

“The ecumenical events in Sweden will be more than commemoration, they will be the start of concrete action by Lutherans and Catholics in service of the world’s poor,” said Michel Roy, secretary general of Caritas Internationalis, the Church’s confederation of relief and development agencies.

The declaration will be signed at the Malmö Arena on October 31.
