Irish Church braced for report on clerical abuse
May 19, 2009
Irish Catholics are waiting nervously for a public report by the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse, which is due for release on May 20. The report is expected to show that hundreds of priests were involved in the sexual abuse of children between the years 1975 and 2004. A second report, with a focus on the Dublin archdiocese, will follow this summer.
