Russia poised to ban ‘baby boxes’

The Russian parliament is poised to ban “baby boxes”—heated incubators in which mothers can anonymously leave a newborn child.
Nineteen baby boxes have been installed in Russia since 2011, according to the Vatican newspaper, and hospitals are automatically alerted of a baby’s placement in the box within thirty seconds. Fifty children’s lives have been saved, according to a BBC report.
Yelena Mizulina, the lawmaker who is leading the effort to ban baby boxes, said that the practice encourages child trafficking and abandonment.

Anyone who is supporting these baby boes is trying to help women who obviously can't take care of the babies. The sponsors are no doubt imitating the Korean pastor who has saved many newborns from starvation and death. Many of them have been adopted.

I'm not a smart man, but if the availability of these baby boxes "encourages child trafficking and abandonment", then how is it that the availability of condoms and other contraceptives does NOT encourage illicit sexual relations? I guess stupid is as stupid says.
