Catholic college bars ‘unborn lives matter’ poster

October 20, 2016

The president of a Catholic university has prohibited a Republican student organization from displaying an “unborn lives matter” poster on the campus.

A DePaul University spokeswoman told National Review that Father Dennis Holtschneider denied the request because the poster “was, at best, deceptive, and the words, font, colors, and design clearly were intended to do a disservice to the Black Lives Matter and pro-life movements.”

This doesn't make sense; doesn't Father Dennis Holtschneider realize that a majority of tho lost unborn lives are Black?

The statement of the University is astonishing. The linked article shows the poster. There is nothing deceptive about it. It states clearly which organization made it and where and when they meet. What could possibly be considered deceptive about it? They also called it hurtful, which I find baffling. As with any pro-life message, I suppose it could cause pain to post-abortive women, but beyond that unavoidable pain... what is the University talking about?

DE Paul University and it's leadership has gone far off track. But like many of our "Catholic" schools it is joining the pack of political correctness and losing site of what is its true mission.
