Pray for Holy Spirit’s guidance, archbishop urges judges at Red Mass in Washington

October 04, 2016

Archbishop Bernard Hebda of St. Paul-Minneapolis exhorted judges, lawyers, and court officers to pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as he preached at the annual “Red Mass” for judicial officials in Washington, DC.

At a time when the country is “almost paralyzed by political polarization,” the archbishop said, “we gather not just to pray for our country and its leaders in general, but to plead in a particular way for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on those who are involved in the administration of justice.”

“Surely between us we will be able to come up with faith at least the size of a mustard seed,” the archbishop said.
