Pope mourns Israeli leader Shimon Peres

Pope Francis has sent a message of condolence to Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, on the death of Shimon Peres.

Peres, who died at 93, was a former prime minister and president of Israel. The Pope said in his telegram: "I hope that his memory and many years of service will inspire us all to work with even greater urgency for peace and reconciliation among peoples."
