Guam lifts statute of limitations in abuse cases

Guam’s governor has signed legislation removing the statute of limitations in civil cases involving sexual abuse—a decision that places the Archdiocese of Agana at risk of bankruptcy.
Archbishop Savio Hon Tai Fai, who was appointed in June as temporary caretaker of the Guam archdiocese, recently called for the removal of Archbishop Anthony Apuron, who has been accused of sexually abusing minors.
