Georgetown slave descendants call for $1B foundation

A week after Georgetown University issued a report seeking to address its historic ties to slavery, including profits from the 1838 sale of 272 slaves, the slaves’ descendants called for the establishment of a $1-billion foundation.
The proposed foundation “would be of the highest caliber, a national leader in the issue of truth and reconciliation,” The Washington Post reported.
“The foundation can only be a reality if we can establish a partnership with Georgetown University,” said a spokesman for the descendants. “We want to work with them on a greater vision that’s not dependent on the day-to-day educational mission of Georgetown, a separate foundation that we all have a role in.”

George Washington Carver didn't need a billion or even ONE dollar to support his accomplishments (and there are others). In fact, he met obstacles these people can't even begin to grasp; instead of yet another freebie which will encourage nothing, oh never mind, they wouldn't get it.

Fr.Cornelius Buckley pointed out in an article that this happened because Jesuits ignored papal teaching on the immorality of slavery:Popes Paul III, Urban VIII. What else is new? Jesuits continue to ignore Church/papal teaching on what is a Catholic university (St.John Paul II,Ex Corde Ecclesiae).In the style of Prof Henry Higgins: Well in America the Jesuits have done so for years!
