Dissident group honors Father James Martin

September 08, 2016

Father James Martin, the popular Jesuit author and commentator, has been selected to receive an award from New Ways Ministry, a group that has been cited by the Vatican and by the US bishops' conference for misrepresenting Church teaching on homosexuality.

New Ways Ministry announced that Father Martin would receive the Bridge Building Award for his public efforts that have "helped to expand the dialogue on LGBT issues in the Catholic Church." Father Martin said: "I am honored to be considered as someone who tries to build bridges in our Church today, and as someone who tries to minister to our LGBT brothers and sisters."

What does Fr. Martin mean by "minister?" Minister how? LGBT is a political ideology based on relativism at odds with the teachings of the Church on the human person and sexuality. Will any bishop question this? Will Rome act? Sadly I believe nothing will happen and Fr. Martin will continue his "ministry."
