LCWR calls for civility in presidential campaign
August 11, 2016
In a letter delivered to the campaigns of the four leading presidential candidates, the Leadership Conference of Women Religious called for civility.
“We need courageous leaders willing to speak the truth,” the conference stated in its letter. “We simply ask that all who seek to lead refrain from language that disrespects, dehumanizes, or demonizes another. We pray that all who seek to influence public opinion will be mindful of the common good and respectful of the dignity of each and every person.”
