Migrant protest ends in German diocese

August 09, 2016

A month after dozens of migrants occupied the Catholic cathedral in Regensburg, Germany, demanding that they be allowed to remain in the country, the diocese announced that their protest has ended.

The migrants, who hailed from Balkan nations and subsequently moved to another church facility, later went on a hunger strike and threatened to kill their children, according to the Associated Press. After the diocese stopped providing food to the protestors, police were able to convince them to leave.
