Julie Orio chairs the board of the Women's Community Clinic in San Francisco, which advertises its service in "medication abortion."

This is clearly a conflict of interest. Julie had better make a choice; she can't have it both ways. The University of San Francisco needs to get its act together; either follow church teach or stop claiming to be a Catholic University.

Every year I have to fill out a conflict of interest form. In the secular world this form is concerned with financial conflicts of interest. In addition to an oath of fidelity to the Catholic faith and the Catholic Church, why does the USCCB not require faculty and staff in Catholic institutions to sign a conflict of interest form that prohibits them from sharing dual loyalties to the Church, on the one hand, and to objectively immoral institutions, on the other? A small but important step.

We live in a world where such things are hardly news anymore. You have to wonder how long such a world can continue to exist.
