Pope presided at wedding of deaf couple

July 21, 2016

Pope Francis presided at the wedding of a young couple earlier this month, in a quiet ceremony held in the chapel of the Domus Sanctae Marthae.

Paulina Szczepanska, the daughter of a Vatican employee, was married on July 9 to Teodoro Pisciottani. Both are deaf, and active in promoting public initiatives for deaf people in Italy.
