Detroit priest sentenced for embezzlement
July 21, 2016
A Detroit archdiocesan priest who admitted to embezzling money from a charity has been resentenced to three to 20 years in prison.
Father Timothy Kane admitted that he had arranged to receive money from the Angel Fund, a charity set up for the poor, and funnel it to a man with whom he had a sexual relationship.
Kane was originally sentenced to one year in jail, but prosecutors appealed the sentence as too lenient.
