Co-founder of Neocatechumenal Way dead at 85

Carmen Hernandez, a co-founder of the Neocatechumenal Way, died in Madrid on July 20 at the age of 85, after a long illness.

Hernandez had joined with Kiko Arguella and Father Mario Pezzi to start the international movement in 1968. It has now founded 40,000 communities dedicated to helping lay people grown in the Catholic faith, located in 900 different dioceses around the world, claiming almost 1 million members.
