Bermuda voters reject same-sex marriage, civil unions

By large margins, voters in Bermuda rejected same-sex marriage and same-sex civil unions in a non-binding referendum, according to the British territory’s daily newspaper.

69% of those who took part in the referendum voted against same-sex marriage, while 63% voted against same-sex civil unions.
Nearly 47% of registered voters turned out for the referendum—just shy of the 50% voter turnout needed for the referendum to be binding.
