Nigerian priest found dead after kidnapping

June 24, 2016

Authorities in Nigeria have reported discovering the body of a Catholic priest who was kidnapped in April.

The remains of Father John Adeyi, who had been the vicar general of the Otukpo diocese, were discovered not far from the spot where he had been abducted. Although the priest's family had complied with a ransom demand, he had never been released.

Police have offered a reward for information leading to the apprehension of the kidnappers.
