Vatican hosts conference on inter-religious dialogue
June 22, 2016
The Pontifical Council for Inter-Religious Dialogue hosted a conference on June 21 to mark the 5th anniversary of the document: "Christian witness in a multi-religious world: recommendations for conduct."
The conference-- co-hosted by the World Council of Churches and the World Evangelical Alliance-- drew Christian scholars and clerics along with representatives of the Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Jain, and Sikh faiths, and of African traditional religions.
The assembly ended with a consensus of support for the rights of all believers to practice and profess their faith, and the need for mutual respect and continued dialogue.
