Pope visits infirm priests as part of ‘mercy Friday’ initiative

June 20, 2016

Pope Francis made a visit on June 17 to Monte Tabor, a home for eight elderly and infirm priests.

In doing so, he wished to “express his closeness and care for those priests who were unable to participate physically in the jubilee celebrations,” according to the Holy See Press Office.

During the jubilee year of mercy, the Pope has set aside a monthly “mercy Friday” to perform such works in mercy.
