Brussels archdiocese eyes over 100 parishes for mergers, closing

The Brussels archdiocese is preparing a major consolidation plan, which could involve closing or merging more than 100 parishes. 

Archbishop Jozef De Kesel is weighing plans for drastic cuts in the number of parishes in the Belgian archdiocese, due to pressing budget concerns and a shortage of priests.
