Caritas vehicle hijacked in Congo; driver killed

For the 3rd time this year, a vehicle belonging to Caritas, the Catholic relief agency, was ambushed in the Democratic Republic of Congo on March 25. The driver was killed and another passenger injured, the Fides news service reports.

The vehicle, which was transporting funds for teachers' salaries, was blocked on a road in the South Kivu province. The hijackers took 194 Congolese francs (about $21,000).
