Full English text of rare Benedict XVI interview now online

Catholic World Report has published the full text of a lengthy interview with Pope-emeritus Benedict XVI, in an English translation.
In the interview the retired Pontiff-- who has rarely made public statements since stepping down-- speaks on the necessity of faith for salvation, the role of the Church, the universal need for God's mercy, and the imperative of spreading the Catholic faith.
Originally in German, the interview was conducted by Father Jacques Servais, a Jesuit theologian, in October 2015, and the text was presented at a conference in Rome last year.
