Religious education conference hears 'transgender' plea for acceptance

Two speakers made the case of Church acceptance of 'transgender' members at a workshop at the annual Los Angeles Religious Education Congress.

Father Christopher Bazyouros, the director of religious education for the Los Angeles archdiocese, said that the workshop was scheduled to explore an emerging issue. "We were just going with the Pope's desire to go out and encounter people, to hear their stories," he said.
