Think of mercy when tempted to violence, says prelate

Condemning recent brutal killings in his diocese, a Mexican bishop has called upon those tempted to violence to think about mercy.

“The world today does not encourage us to have mercy,” said Bishop Rodrigo Aguilar Martínez of Tehuacán, according to a local media report. “On the contrary, it encourages us to be forceful judges and executioners so that violence is punished with more violence, and this is arrogance and abuse, and with these criteria, the human world is turning savage.”
