Lenten postcard campaign directed at Costco, StarKist

March 03, 2016

The Coalition of Catholic Organizations Against Human Trafficking has begun a Lenten postcard campaign asking Costco and StarKist to ensure that persons who have been enslaved do not work in their seafood supply chains.

“As many Catholics eat fish and abstain from meat to be in greater solidarity with those in need, we are urging a greater vigilance on the part of our suppliers to ensure that the seafood we eat is not tainted by slave labor,” the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ website stated.
